Myanmar and wine both have an ancient and rich history. Today, The Warehouse is bringing the two together.
This month, The Warehouse celebrates the opening of their new location on Dhammazedi Road.
Stepping inside of the timeworn villa, I was greeted with a friendly welcome and a glass of water.
The interior of the store is tastefully designed and well-organized. In a relaxed atmosphere, I could tour the world of wines. A selection of 200 wines is available from the Old (France, Italy, Spain)and New (Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, South Africa, The United States) Worlds. I lost track of time while wandering through the shop. Especially, as their wine expert offered me a glass of Gerard Bertrand Chardonnay. With fresh notes of citrus, ripe apple and white flowers, it was a perfect white wine for a warm afternoon!
The location is not only pleasant, but also convenient. Parking is available in front of the shop. And, the supermarket is just around the corner- perfect for picking up dinner to pair with your wine! Wine and cheese, anyone?
From connoisseurs, to those who are new to wine, The Warehouse has something for every personal taste and budget. Their local and foreign staff are ready to help you choose the best wine for your needs. A wine specialist can advise the best bottles for your dinner table or special event.
But, what is most outstanding about The Warehouse is its commitment to quality. Their wines come directly from the winery in temperature-controlled environments. This ensures the highest quality of wine, which is especially important in Myanmar’s hot climate. (And, it means the tastiest wine in your glass!)
It’s clear to see that The Warehouse is committed to sharing the joy of wine with Myanmar. And, because drinking with friends is always more fun, you can stay updated via Facebook for ongoing events: @TheWarehouseMyanmar.
Throughout history, wine has been for each and every one. Now, it includes The Golden Land.
Cheers, Yangon! May your glass always be full.
