Singapore Festival 2018: The Best of Singapore Comes to Bogalay Zay Street

From 30th November until 2nd December, Bogalay Zay Street will become a microcosm of the best that Singapore has to offer. Welcoming the third Singapore Festival, which started in 2016, the idea behind the concept is to allow Yangonites to experience all that Singapore has to offer – without leaving the city.

The three-day festival will run from 4pm to 9pm each evening and will showcase food, cultural experiences as well as entertainment in one stop. This year, the event will be collaborated with local multi-discipline restoration and placemaking social enterprise, Doh Eain.

At the event, foodies can enjoy the 500Ks street food vendors, an idea adapted from Singapore’s 50 cents street food concept. The world’s cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant owner, Hawker Chan will also visit Yangon, bringing with him his signature soy sauce chicken with rice dish. Chef Shen Tan and Chef Jeremy Cheok will also collaborated with Rangoon Tea House and Union Bar & Grill to create Burmese and Singaporean fusion dishes during the festival.

For culturally-curious, Atypical Singapore will features art and augmented reality (AR) technology created by seven contemporary Singaporean artists. Bart Was Not Here, a well-known artist among Yangon’s passionate and boundary-breaking urban youth, will also be creating an exclusive artwork on Bogalay Zay Street, inspired by Singapore and Myanmar’s energy and cultures.

Visitors will get a chance to enjoy an exclusive collaboration performance by He’ Lay and TheLionCityBoy, two prominent artists whose music is a result of mixing their own cultural heritage and leading international trends in their music genres. There will also be Resorts World Sentosa, Gardens by the Bay and more Singapore’s tourist attractions’ inspirations by Doh Eain to experience in Myanmar.
