Wednesday 7th November saw the winners of the Myanmar Car of the Year (MCOTY) Awards revealed at Pullman Yangon Centrepoint. The 15 award categories included the likes of Compact Sedan of the Year, Luxury Car of the Year, Car Of the Year (Jury’s Choice) and Car Of The Year (People’s Choice).

The car models were evaluated through test drives and inspections, taking into account handling, comfort, look and feel, as well as factors such as price and insurance. The test drive event for the cars was held on October 10th and 11th, and was judged by jury members which included motor journalists from both Myanmar and various neighboring countries.

Heineken, the Gold Sponsorship partner, collaborated with DRIVE magazine for the event and showcased their “When you Drink, Never Drive” campaign. Luther Law Firm, supported as an auditor to ensure voting and jury work is supervised and done correctly, Centurion Auto, supported the test drives with its experiences in advance driver training, Automan for their technical know how and AAM supporting with their industry knowledge. MI Radio, Marbled Black, Marco’s Cellar, MacArthur and Brioni were also sponsors for the event.
