The Art of Dim Sum: Yum Cha at Novotel’s Royal Pavilion opened on September 29th and has given Yangonites a new weekend brunch buffet option – with a difference. Malaysian Chef Ooi Boonchang, who specializes in Cantonese and Hong Kong cuisine, makes the dishes fresh to order from 11.30am to 2.30pm every weekend at the cost of 25$ per person.

Over 60 different items are included in the buffet, ranging from steamed dim sum stuffed with beef shank and cho hao sauce, to steamed seafood rice rolls, as well as congee, marinated jellyfish and deep fried pandan sesame balls. A varied selection of teas are also on offer including Fujian oolong and jasmine, each one picked to compliment the menu.
