Bedtime For Bars: No Alcohol Sales After 10pm

MYANMORE TRACKS EVENTS DURING ALCOHOL SALES BAN

With final exams beginning in Yangon schools and universities, a ban on the sale of alcohol after 10pm has begun as of today, ends on Thursday, March 17th. A similar law was instituted last year as well. Plenty is happening during this 9-day period, unfortunately, the big events have had to institute some changes.

Here are a few upcoming events that will be adjusted, or rescheduled altogether while the ban is in effect. MYANMORE will be updating the list as we get the news. Email [email protected] if your event is being rescheduled.

#WDGAF feat. Big Bag and Count the Thief

The event will not be postponed, still on for March 11th at People’s Park. The concert will end at 10pm though. So don’t come too late or else you may miss half the show.

You can also expect a proper after hours party at Pioneer Nightclub once Yangon International has had enough.

Most of the big bars (i.e. Vista Rooftop, Yangon Yangon) seem to be abiding by the 10pm cut-off. One or more of the larger night clubs, however, remain open all hours of the night.

Update To Original Text: Change from “the ban will end on Friday 19th”. The last day of the ban is on Thursday March, 18th according to bars and clubs MYANMORE has spoken with.
