UPDATED MYANMORE GUIDE TO YANGON SWIMMING POOLS
Every year, hotel and public pools in Yangon have save countless local and expats from the brutality of the Hot Season. The price and availability have changed for many of the city’s swimming pools. MYANMORE has so you can go to the pool that fits your budget and style. Many of the pools have scheduled swimming lessons that often require the entire space so make sure to call ahead especially if you’re with a big group.
Bahosi Swimming Pool
Bahosi Housing, Bogyoke Aung San Rd, Lanmadaw Tsp // +95 (0) 9 5114629
The opening hours are from 10 am to 5: 30 pm (everyday). The schedule may varies for different swimmers: 10am to 12pm is solely for the course and training, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm is for women only , and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm is for both men and women. You can also take a course, which costs 25000 Ks for a three month course.
Kokine Swimming Club
23 Sayar San Road, Bahan Tsp // +95 (0) 1 542749
The membership may go over 8 lakhs for this particular club. However, they offer a reasonable family membership plan. Aside from that, a very good summer course is available every year, and it cost 50,000 Ks for a three month course. The club offers two well-maintained 30m outdoor pools this club has been going since 1904. It is becoming more difficult to join, however it is good to have a referral from a member to get into the club.
Yangon University Swimming Pool

The opening hours are from 6:30am to 6:30 pm, and it is available everyday. The admission fee is 2000 Ks per person. You can also apply for membership, which cost 60,000 Ks per year. Courses are available all year round. The weekday courses which takes 2 months cost 40,000 Ks, and the weekend courses which take 4 months cost 50,000 kyats. The pool is not the nicest one but it is quite functional. This pool is more for lap swimming, and water polo not lounging pool side. Women should consider wearing a Tshirt over bikinis.
National Swimming Pool

The opening hours are 9am – 12pm, 1pm – 4pm, and 6pm – 8pm. The admission fee is 1000Ks per person. However, you can apply for membership which costs 1 lakhs per year if you do not wish to pay for admission fees everytime you go there. The pool is a relatively clean 50m lap pool with an attached diving section.
Kandawgyi Swimming Pool

The opening hours are 7 am to 12 pm and 3am to 7pm .The admission fee is 3000Ks per person, and the membership is 20,000 Ks per month. Summer courses are 35000 per month. Since this is a public pool, note that it might be crowded during weekends.
Chatrium Hotel Swimming Pool

The opening hour is from 6 am to10 pm. Since it is a hotel pool, the hotel will not charge the guest. However, for non-guests, it costs US$20 per day to use the pool including the access for the gym. If you want it to be less costly, you can be a member. 1 month membership cost 200, 3 months for US$500, 6 months for US$800, and a year for US$1400.
Inya Lake Hotel Swimming Pool

The pool opens from 7 am to 9 pm. The fee is US $20 per person, but children aged 5 and blow can have complimentary access if accompanied by parents. There are varieties of membership packages-

Biannual Family: US$ 1650
Quarterly Individual: US$ 605

Micasa Hotel Swimming Pool

It opens from 6 am to 10 pm , and the admission fees is US $12 per day. The cheaper alternative is to become a member of the pool, which costs US $110 per month including the gym. This pool is one of the most reasonably fair pools in Yangon in terms of price if you consider the facilities they can provide.
Park Royal Hotel Swimming Pool

The hotel will provide 24 hours pool service if the occupancy of the guests in the hotel is high. If not, it opens from 6am to 11pm. The admission fee is US $20 which also includes the access to the gym. The membership plans is US $300 for 3 months,US $600 for 6 months, and US $1200 for a year.
Belmond Governor’s Hotel Swimming Pool
35 Taw Win Road, Dagon Tsp // +95 (0) 1 229
It opens from 6am to 6pm, but non-guests may be turned away if the hotel has a lot of guests. For the admission, you can have access to the pool as long as you use at least US $50 dollars on their spa or their restaurant. That said, the price of admission can be much lower depending on the day. You can often swim for free for the day after eating breakfast there which around US $31. This is probably the nicest pool in Yangon.
Hotel Parami Swimming Pool

It opens from 7am to 5pm. The admission fee is US $10, and membership is not available here. You can also buy coupons, one coupon per swim day, which will give you a better deal in the long run. The prices of the coupons are 15, 0000 Ks for 25 coupons, and 30, 0000 Ks for 50 coupons.
Yuzana Garden Hotel Swimming Pool

The opening hours start from 8am to 7pm. One-time admission and the membership fees vary between locals and foreigners. For locals, the admission is 3,800 Ks per day, and the memberships fees are 23,000Ks for a month, 60,000Ks for 3 months, and 60,000Ks for 6 months. For foreigners, the admission fees is US $5 per day, and the membership fees are US $30 for 1 month US $80 for 3 months, and US $150 for a year.
Jasmine Palace Hotel

The pool opens from the morning till night. The admission fee, which not only includes the access to the pool but also the access to the gym, is $15 per day. You can also buy variety of cheaper alternative packages, which costs $150 per month and $1000 per year. They sometimes have massive pool parties, the next one coming this Sunday 27th March.
