Aung La N Sang to defend ONE middleweight belt against Ken Hasegawa

Two-division ONE champion Aung La N Sang will defend his middleweight belt against
Japan’s Ken Hasegawa in Yangon on June 29.

The 33-year-old “Burmese Python” from Kachin State headlines a packed card titled “ONE:
Spirit of a Warrior” that will take place at Thuwunna Indoor Stadium.

The Myanmar star captured the ONE Middleweight World Championship with a unanimous
decision victory over Vitaly Bigdash in June 2017. In his most recent bout, he defeated
Brazil’s Alexandre Machado to be crowned the new ONE Light Heavyweight World
Champion.

Ken Hasegawa, 31, is a martial arts veteran set to make his ONE Championship debut. The
middleweight contender is 16-2, stopping four of his last five opponents and showcasing
submission skills and thunderous knockout power in Japanese promotions Deep and Rizin.

Also fighting on the night is Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Leandro “Brodinho” Issa, 34,
who competes out of Evolve Fight Team in Singapore and will face Guamanian prospect
Roman Alvarez, a pioneer of ONE Championship’s bantamweight division.

Muay Thai specialist Sagetdao “Deadly Star” Petpayathai, 31, transitioned to mixed martial
arts in 2017, acing his first three bouts with flying colors. In his next outing, Sagetdao will be taking on China’s Ma Jia Wen.

Rafael Nunes, 30, from Sao Paulo, Brazil is 11-1 and looks to showcase his multi-faceted skill set in his next bout, squaring off with 28-year-old Tetsuya Yamada of Kanagawa, Japan.

Unbeaten Afghani Ahmad Qais Jasoor, 28, who owns a spotless record of 3-0 debuts against also unbeaten Chen Lei, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner known as “Rock Man.” Thai kicking boxing sensation Tukkatatong Petpayathai, 30, will fight Panicos Yusuf, one of the biggest names in British Muay Thai.

Other clashes include strawweight contenders Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado and Kritsada
“Dream Man” Kongsrichai, and Elliot Compton against Matthew Semper.
