Residents of Thanlyin’s Star City won’t have to travel far for a good cup of Myanmar tea with the opening of a new diner.
Wah Tea Shop is located in the former place of Irrawaddy Pizza Co and meshes a traditional Yangon tea shop and a Cantonese-style cha chaan teng commonly found in Hong Kong.
Wah Tea, a play on words for the Myanmar saying war dee (meaning ‘let’s eat’), serves tasty samosas, spring rolls, steamed rice noodle rolls, rice and fish croquettes, and a selection of local salads.Among its other dishes are a range of Cantonese and Myanmar noodle dishes, Chinese rice dishes and sandwiches.
