SilkAir(Singapore) Private Limited founded in 1976 (as Tradewinds Charters). It is a regional airline with its head office in Airline House in Singapore;previously it was on the fifth storey of the SIA Superhub in Singapore. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines and operates scheduled passenger services from Singapore to 52 cities in 14 countries in Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, China and Australia. In April 2017, it will commence flights to Colombo, expanding the network to 53 cities in 15 countries.
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Thailand. It operates domestic, regional and intercontinental flights radiating from its home base in Bangkok to key destinations around the world and within Thailand. The company’s fully paid up share capital amounts to 16,988,765,500 Baht (9 May 2005) and is 53.77% owned by the Ministry of Finance, the Thai Government. At the end of September 2004, consolidated total assets of the company amounted to 193,211 million Baht. In its operations, THAI has achieved profitability every year for the last 40 consecutive years

Singapore established diplomatic relations with the Union of Myanmar in 1966. However, it was only in May 1984 that the Embassy was opened in Yangon. Initially, it operated from Inya Lake Hotel before renting a bungalow house at 287 Pyay Road, Sanchaung Township, Yangon.
The Embassy later moved to another rented premises at 326 Pyay Road, Sanchaung Township, Yangon on 11 June 1993. On 12 May 2003, the Embassy finally relocated to its permanent home at 238 Dhamazedi Road, Bahan Township, Yangon.
Mr David Low was appointed the first Charge d’Affaires in Yangon. The Embassy’s first Ambassador was Mr Calvin Eu who assumed his post on 20 June 1994. The current Ambassador is Mr Robert Chua who took up his post on 22 May 2006.
