This chain dishes out grilled chicken with tons of different sauces. You can order anything from an entire chicken to pasta, tajine, burgers or chicken wings. No fine dining for sure but the taste is there. Ask for extra peri peri chili if you dare!
Shi Yu Yan Grilled Fish is a new Chinese bar and grill restaurant. The shop specializes in barbeque, grilled fish, and Mao Cai with different flavorings. They are well known for their spicy taste and chewy texture.
Meringue is a new, no-fuss coffee shop round the block. Coffees and pastries are made fresh and complimentary Wifi is available for a connected cuppa. They were still fine-tuning their recipes at time of print, but soon their Egg pudding and Waffles will no doubt delight the kids (and not only kids!). The quiche is nice for a light lunch.
A popular spot in the trendy Yaw Min Gyi quarter, Aung Mingalar offers a terrific mix of Shan and local dishes. Also highly recommended are the fried dumplings. It is a pleasant venue with open doors that gets a cool breeze. A great restaurant for people watching that attracts foreigners and locals alike.

Papa Pizza has one of the best pizzas in Yangon, for takeaway and delivery, but so much for eat-ins. Great options include margherita pizza with extra cheesy goodness and the pepperoni pizza with its seeright mix and balance of pepperoni, meat, cheese and dough.
A small buffet Hotpot restaurant located in Nawaday Street. Always full of local buffet lovers, 10,800Ks per person and they now have free flow drinks and ice-creams.
Ahjumma Kitchen is the restaurant specialized in Korean food and also serving Thai & Chinese food. Always crowded with noodle lovers and locals around York Street.
Both branches of Easy Cafe are popular amongst Yangon’s ‘digital nomads’ for their quick internet, relaxing vibe and well-designed decor. Brilled as your “home away from home”, Easy is an oasis of comfort with style and an open invitation to indulge in Taiwanese Asian-Western fusion of gourmet delights. The food is getting good reviews too, particularly its Taiwanese Rice and beef sandwiches.
The Coolest Cafe in town is now open at the junction of York Street (Nawaday Street) & Bo Yar Nyunt Street.
