Kvas is Yangon’s first Russian restaurant located in Yanshin road, behind Sedona Hotel. Named after one of most popular drinks in Russia – KVAS [K-V-Λ-S-S].
Kvas is one of the most popular national drinks of Russia. It is normally made of wheat, rye, rye bread, or barley and buckwheat meal. Kvas has very low alcohol percentage (0.7 to 1.2% or could be a bit more, depending on fermentation). Because fermentation is required, it takes 2-3 days to make kvas. Kvas is sometimes called in English a bread drink. In our restaurant, we serve enriched Kvas, kept in a cold place so that it will satisfy you when you feel thirsty .
Kvas is unique for an international restaurant of this caliber. With a variety of of alcohol, especially vodka, and a menu that features signature slow-cooked Russian dishes, Kvas is as close to a true Russian experience that you can get including Soleniya, pickled vegetables garnished with garlic and chili, which is made fresh by the restaurant daily and Shashlik, tender barbecued pork with vegetables plated with rich, creamy sauce.
