This quaint tea house is the place to go to try out exclusive blends of tea. Set A is for two people and includes unlimited teapot refrill along with scones and cream, four different types of cake, two sorts of sandwiches and even a mini-chicken burger. Set B is for four people and is more or less set A timed by two. Ask to explore the house (including outdoor areas) before sitting down: it is full of hidden gems and each room has its own character.
The famous big bright yellow smiley face of Happy Cafe & Noodles can be found in quite a few venues in town. The most enjoyable setting is in the garden of the beautiful colonial building which shelters the inya Road Branch. Their patio is the place to go for some relaxing drinks and a couple of shared plates of Myanmar foods. Their menu focuses on Myanmar snacks, rice and noodles but offers Western options too (and cheap cocktails).
Inside the Karaweik Park, Nervin Cafe sits pleasantly on a hill overlooking Kandawgyi Lake. It’s a calm pleasant spot to spend the day and usually offers a pleasant breeze from the lake. There is also a very good and reasonably priced casual menu with a selections of pizza, pastas, paninis and gelato.
The Muses is great choice for lunch or coffee. Decor is classic, it’s a lovely and quite place with outdoor seating.
