The buffet held on Sundays by Sule Shan-gri-La provides many cuisines and treats. There is something for everyone with flavours from Japan, India, China, Burmese and Western and many fusion varieties. Pancakes are made fresh, on demand! We regret the lack of vegetables and healthy options, and now that they have arranged the Kid’s corner, it doesn’t feel quite as premium as it used to.
Shan Traditional Cuisine you already know. Now Even Better at a Price you don’t mind. Do try their Famous “Fish With Lime” and “Fried Chicken Skin”.
Meringue is a new, no-fuss coffee shop round the block. Coffees and pastries are made fresh and complimentary Wifi is available for a connected cuppa. They were still fine-tuning their recipes at time of print, but soon their Egg pudding and Waffles will no doubt delight the kids (and not only kids!). The quiche is nice for a light lunch.
A trendy cafe and bar down a crowded street on Kosan Cafe’ has local, Western and some Korean eating options. It’s a great place to chill and has some of the best music in town. There is a another brunch in China-town, but that is more of a bar than the one in Hletan.
Good news for Japanese food hunters- this Japanese restaurant “Kakurega Kawasemi” was just opened on 29th February. The restaurant offers a wide range of Japanese traditional cuisines, giving you the real taste of Japan with live cooking of Japanese chefs.
The Loft restaurant “the Alex’s” is ready to cater the most discerning visitors. The 60 seats venue including a bar-lounge area will offer A la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner in the alchemy of tastes, colours and design brought together to create an enchanting experience!

A Chinese Restaurant which offers hand-made La Mian noodles, gyoza, xiao long bao soup dumplings, and other chinese food. Very homey feeling and authentic Chinese – no exaggeration.
A popular spot in the trendy Yaw Min Gyi quarter, Aung Mingalar offers a terrific mix of Shan and local dishes. Also highly recommended are the fried dumplings. It is a pleasant venue with open doors that gets a cool breeze. A great restaurant for people watching that attracts foreigners and locals alike.
