Sai’s Taco was the first Mexican restaurant in town. It is also a social enterprise which acts as a “home” for youngsters coming to Yangon. They stay a few months, learn restaurant skills and get a salary before venturing further on their own path. Sometimes, some items such as the corn chips are not available, and some dishes can turn out to be a bit oilier than necessary but overall it is a good and affordable option for fajitas and tacos.
Renovated and recently reopened, Salud offers an array of Latino dishes in a bohemian and rustic setting. Bric-a- brac objects of art adorn a brush stroke interior of red, gold and green beneath bronze colonial ceiling fans and light shades made from recycled bottles. The ambience leans towards a fun night out. A dangerous collection of rum and tequila is stacked high behind the bar while salsa and dance set the tone.
Salud is a great venue for a fun night out with friends. The cuisine is satisfying and good value for money while the tequila and rum will have you swaggering to the bar for more.
