The restaurant is simple, immaculately clean, pleasantly cool and surprisingly small. Each of the six tables is decorated with a bamboo vase of freshly cut flowers—it’s a nice touch, and one that alludes to the attention to detail and efforts this little restaurant puts into its offering.
Don’t let the name mislead you, this is a Kachin restaurant with two locations. The Kandawgyi branch is using a late lunch spot, hours are from 11:30am- 830pm. We recommend the Kachin Mohinga, Kachin Pounded Rice Salad and the Kachin Pounded Mutton Salad.
The small and simple restaurant serves the best Kachin food in town. Try the pinkish Kachin rice wine, along with any of their wide variety of very tasty dishes. You will not be disappointed.
According to the manager, the ingredients are flown in every day all the way from Kachin state! The food does taste very fresh and quite spicy! Kachin cuisine has also quite a few sour dishes, so if that’s not your favourite kind of food, make sure you ask the staff before ordering.
