Named for the British author who penned such iconic verses as “Mandalay”, this bar rekindles the atmosphere of Kipling’s early 20th-century Burmese Days. Rife with nostalgia for colonial life in the tropics, it adds another layer of experience to your chosen beverage. Make sure to try an award-winning cocktail, such as “Picturesque Paddy”, a rice-based vodka concoction created by talented bartender.

Eliq Restaurant, situation at the back of Avenue 64 Hotel, for the most part is a hidden gem and arguably, under-rated. Started since 2012, it serves a medley of healthy, Asian and fusion dishes concocted by Chef Aung Htike, a local genius who drew his culinary inspirations from his experiences in the UAE and Japan.

This quaint tea house is the place to go to try out exclusive blends of tea. Set A is for two people and includes unlimited teapot refrill along with scones and cream, four different types of cake, two sorts of sandwiches and even a mini-chicken burger. Set B is for four people and is more or less set A timed by two. Ask to explore the house (including outdoor areas) before sitting down: it is full of hidden gems and each room has its own character.
