As Myanmar is slowly getting back to normal also temples in Thanlyin, Bagan, Mt Popa and some other places in the country are opening again. The Ananda temple in Bagan. Probably one of the most famous tourist attractions in Bagan opened already on 27th June.
You will have to wait a bit longer to be allowed to visit Yangon, Shwedagon pagoda again, yet the creative minds from Khiri Travel have adapted their Spiritual Shwedagon tour according to Covid-19 standards and actually made it even more interesting. Join us on Saturday 4 July for a morning walk discovering what the Shwedagon area looks like when it’s not business as usual. We start with mohinga and continue through small alley ways and visit several of the historical monasteries and libraries, learn more about the Myanmar spirits and meet with a fortune teller who can tell you a thing or two about your future. No entry to the platform, yet a very interesting walk including a few fantastic glimpses at the Shwedagon from a distance, taste some snacks along the way and stop for some pictures.
Khiri guide Cherry Kyaw will tell you more about this history, beliefs and answers all your questions about life in their special neighborhood in Yangon. And she can tell you all you want to know about future trips upcountry for the upcoming long weekends from 18-20 July and from 1-3 August. The walk is planned on Saturday 4 July and starts at 08:30 and finishes around 11:30. To be clear; the tour does NOT enter the Shwedagon compound.
A chance to see the Shwedagon area very differently. Participation fees 10 Usd / person
