The Lycée français international de Rangoun – Joseph Kessel (LFIR) is an establishment of French excellence, member of the AEFE network since the start of the 2016 academic year. Teaching is done in French and in English, with dedicated support for non-French speakers with a qualified teacher. The school is open to all nationalities, from the preschool section to the baccalaureate, and welcomes more than 170 students today. It is approved by the french Ministry of education, and therefore follows its curriculum.

Network is one of the leading British International Schools in Yangon, Myanmar. Dulwich College Yangon provides a modern British independent school education. The first school in Myanmar to have a direct link to a British independent school, the prestigious Dulwich College in London. Dulwich College Yangon draws on over 400 years of experience in education.

Spread over two campuses, Pun Hlaing and Star City. Dulwich College Yangon is accepting applications from children aged 2-15 years for both campuses. The Pun Hlaing campus sits on a beautiful Pun Hlaing Estate to the West of the city, and the Star City campus lies to the South-East on the Star City residential development in Thanlyin township. The College will continue to grow each year until accommodating students up to Year 13 (17 years old).

Shared facilities across both campuses include a 280-seat black box theatre, science laboratories, art and design studios, libraries, gymnasia, 25m and 50m swimming pools, and sports fields. Dulwich College Yangon joins a network of six Colleges across Asia in Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou, Seoul and Singapore, as well as two Dulwich International High Schools in Suzhou and Zhuhai. The International School Yangon (formerly known as International School Rangoon) celebrated its 60th anniversary in September, 2015. ISY is proud of the fact that it has impacted the lives of thousands of students over the years.

Founded in 1952 by Ms. Jevne, an American woman, The International School Yangon (ISY) originally served the needs of students whose parents were working the diplomatic and business community. It continued to grow in size and soon became a kindergarten through grade 12 school offering outstanding academic programs to both international and local students. In 1955, a Declaration of Trust was made by His Excellency, Joseph C. Satterwaite, Ambassador of the United States to the Union of Burma.

In 1988, the school moved to its present location in the Golden Valley neighborhood of Yangon. When it moved to its new location, the school maintained the original administrative building which was once the private home of one of ISY’s first local teachers. It was also a center for the Japanese occupation forces during World War II, and an administrative center for the Burmese/Myanmar Government.

Today, ISY takes pride in being a top-tier benchmark school in Myanmar, with more than 700 students from 40 countries in attendance. We offer a program based on an American core curriculum with an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. ISY is a private, nonprofit, and nondenominational school.

Ninety-eight percent of ISY graduates move on to colleges and universities of their choice around the world. ISY is committed to a program that reflects both the school community’s high expectations for academic rigor and the needs of the multinational student body. There is a deep commitment to its mission, which encourages all students to be a force for positive change in their communities and the world.

The International School Yangon is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of the East Asian Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS). Pride ISM was inaugurated in Yangon in 2001-2002 and has a growing enrolment spread across three campuses, one for Early Years Foundation Stage, one for Primary and Secondary both in Yangon and a third in Mandalay that provides a home for nursery, kindergarten, primary and secondary education.
The school year runs for 184 or so teaching days from August to June. Class size is set at 24 maximum. The school has followed the UK National Curriculum since 2014 -15 in Secondary and 2015 – 16 in Primary. From October 2015 Pride International School Myanmar gained official recognition as a registered Cambridge International School and Examinations Centre in both the Yangon and Mandalay Schools and our Primary School in Yangon is now an official Cambridge Primary School.
In the Secondary schools they offer subjects from the CAIE syllabi Key Stage 3 include English, Maths, History, Accounting, Geography, Science, ICT/Computing, Art, Music and PE. For Key Stage 4, Cambridge IGCSEs we are currently offering English as a Second Language, Maths, Additional Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Accounting, Art and Design, History and ICT. In future, they intend to offer more subjects to widen the students’ choices.

Singapore International School: RVi Academy is the only school in Yangon to be accredited by both the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and the Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International). Their association with SEAB and Cambridge International help ensure the quality of their academic educational programmes offered. They also have a comprehensive educational pathway for our students that is internationally-recognised.

Yangon Academy International School is a privately-held, Pre-Nursery through Grade Twelve international school located in Yangon’s Bahan Township. The School, established in 2004, is housed on two campuses – the elementary school campus for Pre-Nursery through Grade 5 students, and the nearby secondary school campus for Grade 6 through Grade 12 students. Utilizing an American curriculum with English as the primary language of instruction, Yangon Academy strives to educate the whole child with the goal of developing excellent students today so that they become ethical, global leaders tomorrow.
