Art, Film, and Self-Care: Your Downtown Weekend is Sorted at Kalasa Art Space

Feeling the mid-November hustle? If you’re looking for a way to reset and find a little inspiration, we’ve got just the thing.

This weekend only, the lovely Kalasa Art Space on Seikanthar Street is hosting a pop-up event that’s part art, part wellness, and 100% intriguing. The main draw? An exhibition with a title we absolutely love: “The Imaginary Travels of an Eclectic Diplomat.”

It’s the perfect excuse to pop downtown, soak up some culture, and maybe even learn a new skill.

The Vibe: An Eclectic Escape

Let’s be real, that exhibition title alone is worth the visit. It promises a world of curiosity and imagination. While the “diplomat” in question might be imaginary, the creativity is very real.

This two-day-only exhibition is your chance for a quick cultural fix. Swing by between 10 am and 5 pm, browse the art, and let your mind wander. It’s the perfect “main event” for a weekend stroll through the historic downtown streets.

Beyond the Art: Get Hands-On

But this isn’t just a “look, don’t touch” event. Kalasa is also hosting two fascinating workshops designed to get your own creative juices flowing.

1. For the Soul: Self-Care with Creativity (FOAT Workshop)

  • What is it? Feeling stressed? This is for you. It’s a 90-minute workshop using Focusing Oriented & Expressive Art (FOAT) to explore self-care. No art skills are needed—just an open mind.

  • The best part? It’s “Pay as you feel,” making it wonderfully accessible.

  • When: Saturday, 22nd November (3:00 PM – 4:30 PM)

2. For the Film Buff: One Day Film & Psychology Workshop

  • What is it? This is a proper deep dive. Spend Sunday exploring the connection between movies and emotions. You’ll watch scenes, discuss characters, and then—the fun part—learn to shoot and edit your own short videos about feelings.

  • Heads up: This is an intimate one, limited to just 10 people, so you’ll need to book your spot.

  • When: Sunday, 23rd November (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
