Kicking Off on May 16: Canada and Korea Showcase Culture and Fun
The cultural festivities begin on May 16, 2025, with exciting programs from the Canadian Embassy Myanmar and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Myanmar. The Canadian Embassy invites visitors to test their knowledge with a Canadian trivia quiz, explore a photo booth, enjoy paper mâché painting, and sample coffee and food, alongside a photo exhibit and educational booths.
Simultaneously, the Korean Embassy offers a hands-on immersion into Korean culture with traditional games, Dalgona candy-making, Hanbok photo booths, a Korean food corner, lucky draws, and live performances that promise to draw crowds of all ages.
Italian Heritage and Artistic Inspiration: May 17–18
On May 17, the Italian Embassy Yangon presents “Hidden Heritage,” featuring a Gelato Academy with Myanmar deaf chefs and homemade pasta sessions with Chef Luin Luin. A special session led by Teacher Valentina Caputo introduces the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, followed by a screening of the classic film Carosello Carosone. The next day, May 18, marks the launch of From Darkness to Light: Burma Baroque, a photo book and exhibition by Nicolò Tassoni Estense.

The American Center Yangon hosts a full-day celebration on May 23, offering a Cultural Connections photo exhibition, educational and science activity booths, a film screening, and the grand opening of their Learning Hub. Visitors can enjoy a Southern U.S. cooking demonstration, a hip-hop dance class, and a live musical performance. Scholarships, English programs, and ACY clubs will also be introduced, making this an ideal event for students and families alike.
