It’s been a while since I was in front of you introducing a decent spot for a nice meal. So, I am back with a new review of a fine spot where you could grab a flavorful lunch.

What is it?

Bella Ciao is a restaurant-cum-bar located near Inya Lake, one of Yangon’s prime spots for scenic views. The opening date was around May last year and it’s been a hot place among youths since the start. The restaurant offers Italian dishes and also local inspired foods. It emphasizes on offering a nightlife experience with happy hours featuring creative cocktails and band music.

The atmosphere

Being a two-storey building, it has a spacious seating plan and also a quiet ambience facing the small part of beautiful Inya Lake.

On the first floor, there is a stage for the live music band, a big LED Tv for football matches, a viewable bar and also some secret spots where you could take instagramable pictures to post on your social media.

Entering into the blue door beside the stage, there will be a photo wall filled with memories of beautiful people and also a make up room on the right where you can repair your look with the help of makeup accessories there.

I recommend choosing the second floor when you come with a squad to chill and chit chat since it has a better view and friendly vibe.

Menus and Recommendation

It offers grilled meats including Australian beef steak, lamb chop, salmon, sausage platter, local inspired dishes including fried chicken, spicy eels, mala pork entrails, different kinds of fried rice and salads, some Italian menus such as pizza, pasta and also burgers. The price range starts from 5000 MMKs to 39,800 MMKs.

We chose spicy eels (8,300 Ks), tom yum soup with chicken (9,800 Ks), Sausage Platter (19,800 Ks), Lady finger with minced pork (5,800 Ks) and lao gan ma fried rice (5,800 Ks).

After 10 mins of waiting, the dishes came one by one and I tried spicy eels firstly since it looked quite filling more than its price and tom yum soup as well. I could see that both were modified to match the taste buds of the locals and they did satisfy me too.

Lao Gan Ma fried rice gave me a wonderful taste with a perfect flavor of oyster oil, tangy lao gan ma chili sauce, grilled chicken, half fried egg and roasted peanuts on top. I can say that it was one of the best lao gan ma fried rice I ever tasted.

Lady finger bean with minced pork was not that special and it had nothing to memorize as well.

Give a round of applause to Sausage Platter which won No.1 place in my heart. With a bunch of grilled and seasoned big sausages, mashed potato underneath and roasted green beans on the side, the whole platter tasted so fine and it was price worthy, too. For those who aren’t into heavy meat dishes, you should try this one instead.

Final Thought

First of all, there were no customers aside from us during our lunch time since it was Monday and also being a bar which is more famous for nightlife experience. I couldn’t leave the part of the pretty angles of the restaurant where you can take brilliant pictures for your instagram. The meal was quite filling and we had a nice dining experience as well.

The service staff were also attentive and helpful with everything which we needed. All in all, I had a good time and would definitely try visiting again for a fun nightlife experience.
