Have you planned your weekend? If not, check our guide. We’ve got an indoor bazaar, a rafting trip, a Burmese dessert-making programme and more!

New things we have noted

The first-ever Chatrium Bazaar will be held at the Chatrium Hotel (lobby level) in partnership with Together for Community. A total of 40 vendors will be selling handicrafts, eco-printed fabrics, farm produce, local and international food products and home decor accessories. Register here.

(10am – 4pm) 21 Aug | Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon

Recipes we’re trying

We always feel Burmese pastry is criminally underrated in the modern dessert landscape. With that in mind, we’ll learn how to make some of them with a training class held by Kokkoya Organics and Tint Tint Myanmar Snacks. The founder of Tint Tint herself will be teaching. It’s a one-day programme and will cost you Ks50,000. Bring your own box if you want to bring the snacks back home. Register here.

(10am – 1pm) 20 Aug | Kokkoya Organics

Place we’re revisiting

Shan Yoe Yar is one of the most premium ethnic restaurants in Yangon. It’s been around for nearly a decade and is still on the top of its game. We’re going to revisit one of its two branches and find out the secret behind its staying power.

Foodie event for you

Art of Brunch at Le Cellier, Novotel Yangon Max, is where you can try the unlimited a la carte dishes for 2 hours at only Ks75,000. Enjoy BBQ pork ribs, slow-cooked lamb shank, wagyu beef flank steak, and grilled seafood, etc. If you love premium meals in a fine-dining atmosphere, this is a place to be. Call 09 4440 8888 2 for more info.

Experience worth planning

Rafting can be relaxing and also a great way to bond with your friends. Get in touch with Myanmar’s iconic Ayeyarwaddy River while rowing on it. Contact One Myanmar for rafting packages. But don’t forget to ask them about the weather and road safety first.
