There is a new dish in town – traditional firewood chicken!
Always reinventing himself, U Ye Htut Win, also known as Mr Sharky and one of the judges on the Myanmar Masterchef, is doing a popup of his new concept “The Wingery” from March 16 to 30, 2022 at Bamboo House, open every day 11am to 8pm.
The idea behind “The Wingery” is to serve the best and most unique roasted chicken at a reasonable price for everyone. The pop-up is in collaboration with two Dutch companies, the “Dutch Farm” providing the chicken and Heinken providing the beer. After this first pop-up, the plan is that it will roll out in Yangon, Taunggyi and Mandalay, sold from carts and restaurants.
The signature dish “ Firewood chicken “ has a unique texture and taste. It is roasted over a wood fire with fig leaves from Sharky’s farm in Bagan to create a unique flavour and aroma.
Several other tasty options exist such as the also highly recommended chicken wings, fried potato wedges and wraps together with fresh juices.
The pop-up is held at Bamboo House in the Pun Hlaing Estate, Hlaing Thayar Township. A relaxed outdoor restaurant that is perfect to chill with your family or friends in the calm surroundings of the Pun Hlaing Estate.
