Ngapali beach is now open for Travellers and you don’t have to stay in quarantine. There are, however, some conditions visitors have to follow to protect themselves and others from the pandemic. 

  1. You can travel only by flight.
  2. You have to receive two swab tests: the first is in Yangon within 36 hours before the boarding time and the second in Thandwe before you return to Yangon. Bring these:
    – Flight tickets
    – NRC card (passport for foreigners)
    – Photo taken within 6 months
  3. So far, you can take lab tests at three places in Yangon:
    – Tourist Burma Building on the Sule Pagoda Road (Phone: 09253545656, 09889002323, 095199122)
    – Aungmingalar Bus Terminal in Mingalardon Township (Phone: 09940047757)
    – Pun Hlaing Hospital in Hlaingthaya Township (Phone: 09695410916)

  4. For return back to Yangon
    1. At Thandwe, the City Hall is operating the Rapid Antigen Diagnostic (RDT) tests. The price is Ks10,000 for both locals and foreigners.
    2. MNA accommodates with the swab test when you depart back to Yangon from Ngapali. They send you to the location and you just have to pay for the test.
  5. Average prices for tests can differ based on the methods:
    1. RDT: Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test – Estimated price: Ks10,000
    2. RT-PCR: Real-time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction – Estimated price: Ks35,000
