• 120 new cases in 24 hours, and the total number is now 1,058.
  • There were  5,409 people who entered Yangon Region from Rakhine State between 10-21 August by flight. The authorities’ attempts to contact more than half of them were left unanswered, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports. 
  • The ministry requested them to cooperate and admit themselves to quarantine or face legal action.
  • Meanwhile restaurant owners in stay-at-home townships in Yangon said they had received orders from administrators to serve only takeaway. The government has announced the residents of Thingangyun, Insein, North Oakkalapa, Thakayta, Hlaing, Pazuntaung, and Mingalardon townships to stay at home.
