“No Boundaries….No Limits”, is the inspiration behind the new dining concept of Joitamoi by Chef Orng. As a previous MYANMORE Awards winner of Restaurant of the Year (2019) and Chef of the Year (2018) there is a lot of excitement to see what Chef Orng is up to as his new restaurant just opened up. Being fully booked each night is proof of this!

Joitamoi by Chef Orng is, in contrast to the previous ORNG Kitchen, located in Sanchaung township, with easy to access from all parts of town. The move to change the name from ORNG Kitchen to Joitamoi is, according to Chef Orng, also a chance to slightly change the concept and to make it more about the family of people involved.

The philosophy of Chef Orng is to showcase his roots and tell his story thru his food journey. Born in mon state he received his culinary experiences from the famous Michelin star restaurants of Castle Terrace and Tom’s Kitchen in UK, and you can find the mix of traditional and international as he brings out the best of Myanmar ingredients.

The menu itself is simple. You tell the waiter what you don’t want and then Chef Orng and the team will surprise you with a menu.

The six-course Chef’s surprise dinner costs MMK 69,000. Below are the dishes we tried at our visit but your visit is likely to be different!

Opening hours are Tuesdays to Sundays 6 pm to 9 pm.
