Nam Su Shan Tea House & Cocktails is well known for its delicious Northern Shan traditional dishes in Western style. It has now launched a new menu including varieties of dishes such as Grilled King Prawn, Grilled Octopus with Onsen Egg and more. They have also added new items to the drinks section- Jasmine’s Negroni, Brown Butter Boulevardier and many more. We went there last week and decided to taste some.
Grilled Avocado is paired up with Shan rice, Onsen egg and Fried Enoki mushroom at the price of 6500 Ks. Mohnnyin Tjin, which is pickled and fermented vegetables, is served as a side to ease the rich and strong taste of grilled avocado and Shan rice. You can feel the soft texture of the mushroom inside crunchy Fried Enoki Mushroom which makes a perfect combination with soft and sticky Shan rice.
Grilled Octopus with Onsen Egg (9500 Ks) is basically the same as the first one- combined with Shan rice and Onsen Egg. A huge portion of soft and tender grilled octopus is sprinkled with bean powder on top. It also is a bit rich in taste so it is better to eat together with Mohnnyin Tjin and a bit of egg yolk.
After two full bowls of delicious rice dishes, we decided to try a cocktail item, Jasmine’s Negroni. It is decorated beautifully with a giant block of clear ice with anise seed on it and made with Jasmine infused Gin, Vermouth Rosso and House Gin, which is priced at 6500 Ks. It will be a perfect drink for ladies for its light and sweet taste.
Inclusively, Nam Su is always loved for its delicious cuisines and unique presentation of Shan tradition with its food. And these new menus are not something to be missed to experience how Nam Su has tried to present the traditional cuisines to its customers.
