Yangon – The Ministry of Health and Sport just reported that 4 more cases of COVID-19 were found today which adds the total number of cases to 14 at present.
Among the 55 suspects at the quarantine facility units across Myanmar, four people tested positive for the virus today.
4 of the French tourists who had direct contact with the patient of case 08, Myanmar tour guide, were quarantined immediately at a hotel in Yangon on 28 March 2020. 3 of them have tested positive today and will be sent to Wai Bar Gi Hospital for further treatment although they don’t show any symptoms of the virus.
Case 14 was confirmed as a 24-year-old Myanmar citizen from Kyaukme, Northern Shan State who just came back from Bangkok, Thailand on 25 March and stayed at Tachileik for two nights. He then flew to Mandalay on 27 March and travelled to his hometown, Kyaukme. As he showed the symptoms of nausea, vomiting and coughing, he went to Kyaukme General Hospital on 28 March and was isolated. His test result came later as positive yet his condition is stable now.
