Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FocusCore Myanmar Company Limited has updated its rules and regulations with the official processes for the first-time applicants of stay permits and for renewals of stay permits and business visas for foreign workers in Myanmar.
For Stay Permit extensions, the extension request is to be submitted to DICA (Directorate of Investment and Company Administration) and the relevant ministry (if required). If the applicant has overstayed, the extension request will not be accepted.
The new rules for the extension of Stay Permit are as follows:
- Company officers, members and their families can apply by providing copies of the company incorporation certificates from DICA.
- If applying for an employee, the company must provide additional supporting documents of their business such as contracts, invoices, licenses, etc.
The above conditions are only eligible during the COVID-19 quarantine period based on official announcements from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
A copy of the employment contract must be included along with all other applications. DICA has requested companies to refrain from submitting applications if the visa of the applicant is more than 3 weeks from the expiry date.
The following are the required documents for Stay Permit Application and Renewal:
- Filled visa extension application form signed by the employer with the company stamp affixed
- Copy of the incorporation certificate of the company from DICA together with the evidence of the company’s engagement such as invoices, tax certificates, etc.
- Original Passport
- Copy of the first page with the valid visa page of the passport, signed by the employer with the company stamp affixed
- Copy of the employment contract
- Copy of certificate of education or degree certificates
- Form C
- A letter from the employer requesting visa extension which is addressed to Union Minister, Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population on official company letterhead and signed by the employer with the company stamp affixed
- Payment of the visa extension fees
For business visas, extension is only eligible by submitting an application to DICA and the applicant must submit all necessary documents. If the applicant has overstayed, the extension request will not be accepted.
The new rules for the extension of business visas are as follows:
- DICA will accept the applications if the applicant’s business visa (entry visa) is at least minimum 5 days from the expiry date.
- Company officers, members and their families can apply by providing copies of the company incorporation certificates from DICA.
- Applicants who cannot provide a copy of their education or degree certificates can apply with the recommendation letter from the company.
- If applying for an employee, the company must provide additional supporting documents of their business such as contracts, invoices, licenses, etc.
The documents for Business Visa Extension are the same as those for Stay Permit Application and Renewal.
The above conditions are only eligible during the COVID-19 quarantine period based on official announcements from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Tourist Visa extensions are not eligible under any circumstances.
DICA will process applications in order of priority.
