A 26-year old Myanmar citizen who recently made his way back home from the UK to Myanmar, transited at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand, tested positive for COVID-19 – reported the Ministry of Health and Sports at 1:00 AM on 25 March 2020.
The man had fever and cough on 23 March 2020 and was transferred to Insein General Hospital for isolation and has been watched as a suspect patient. Later, his result test came out as a positive on 24 March 2020. Being treated, now he is doing well and authorities are tracing those who had contact with him and they will be sent to quarantine immediately.
According to the instructions from WHO, the National Health Laboratory will send his test result to a reference laboratory for confirmation.
Thus, MOHS has also made a statement that no positive are found on (12) people that are quarantined at Waibargi Hospital, (60) individuals at Dhammaduta Dr Ashin Cekinda Yarma Monastery, (37) people from AYA Bank Training School at Tamwe and (1) person from Nyaungshwe General Hospital.
