Yangon, Myanmar 29 March 2020 – According to the notice from the Ministry of Health and Sports and Department of Civil Aviation, the landing of all international commercial passenger flights will not be allowed at Yangon International Airport (“YIA”) and any other airport in Myanmar, with effective from 30 March 2359 hours MST up to 13 April 2359 hours MST.
For preventive measures of highly infectious COVID-19, the Department of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Health and Sports advised that all landing permissions previously granted by the Department of Civil Aviation are suspended.
The above temporary measures will not apply to relief flights, all-cargo flights, medical evacuation flights, and special flights specifically approved by the Department of Civil Aviation. However, if any such flight involves night stop(s), the flight crew and cabin crew (if applicable) of the said flight may be subject to quarantine requirements of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
