Babett’s new menu introduces Iberian Pork to Yangon

Babett, the international eatery of Hotel G Yangon, which serves French and Mediterranean inspired cuisines, has introduced a new menu to foodies in Yangon.

With the name “Go Loco for Iberico!”, Babett has brought Iberian pork that comes from Black Iberian Pig, which is native to southern and western regions of Iberian Peninsula. The pork is prepared in 6 different ways; Spicy Pork Ear Salad, Piquant Pork Tongue, Spanish Piperade Burger, Pork Belly Pot-Au-Feu, Pork Ribs and Suckling Pig. 

The first dish that the chef has prepared is Pork Ribs at the price of 32,000 Ks, a very generous price for its big portion which is enough for 4 to 5 people to eat. Marinated with a fair amount of pepper, sprinkled with spring onions on top and served with potato wedges on the side, the combination with sweet and sour barbecue sauce makes the flavour of tender and well-seasoned pork ribs perfect.

Another one is called Piquant Pork Tongue( 17,000 Ks), in which pork tongue is cooked with traditional French piquant sauce. The sauce is made with white wine, vinegar, butter, herbs and seasonings. As soon as you put a piece of pork tongue into your mouth, you can feel the rich buttery taste of the piquant sauce that pairs perfectly with a glass of red wine. 

We were also offered to taste Pork Chop (19,000 Ks) from the Ala Carte menu of Babett. Using the local pork from Shan state, it is served with a small bowl of salad on the side. By using a local pork, it is tender with a big amount of fat in it. On the other hand, Spanish Pork has a rich amount of meat with just a little fat. If you are more of a meat fan, spoil your tummy with Iberico Pork Ribs and try Pork Chop for a little fat.

In addition, you can also choose your selected red wine from their exclusive collection to pair with each dish such as Spanish Monastrell wine, Spanish Syrah Wine and many more.

Iberian Pork Ribs are available every Thursday from 5pm to 11pm at the price of 17,500 Ks for 500g and 32,000 Ks for 1kg. Visit Babett and enjoy different versions of Iberian pork at Babett which will be available in April and May.
