Due to the global coronavirus outbreak, working from home is becoming more favourable among companies and organizations – and even in universities around the world. For the time being, five tech companies are offering free virtual communication tools to small businesses which have considered making employees work from home and they are free for the next three months. 1Google Meet

Google will give free access to the enterprise version of Hangouts Meet to all G Suite and G Suite for education users. It will be able to record meetings with up to 250 users per call and also live stream capabilities for up to 100,000 viewers and it will be free till 1st July 2020.

2LogMeIn

LogMeIn offers free “Emergency Remote Work Kits” for 3 months, which are designed for non-profit organizations, school and healthcare organizations that are not already customers. The company will also offer kits, including GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar with free access to existing customers with which they can hold presentations for up to 3000 users.

3Microsoft Teams Chat

Microsoft offers a free trial of the premium plan for its Teams Chat App, where users can record meetings and use 1TB of storage for their business services. The free premium trial will reportedly be free for next 6 months.

4Cisco Webex

Cisco is also offering its Webex service as a free version, which will allow up to 100 participants for meetings without any time limitation. It also includes toll-free dial-in features with a 90-day license for businesses which are not customers.

5Zoom

Zoom has a free version of video conferencing software and it is now working on ensuring maximum reliability amid any capacity increases. The company is extending its free plan in China for unlimited meeting times and breakout rooms and removed restrictions. Zoom has also created resources and is hosting information sessions for small business organizations to use Zoom.
