1964 Gastropub, a Blues pub which is personally designed by the legendary rock star Zaw Win Htut, is a new place for music lovers and artists to hang out and chill in Yangon.
Zaw Win Htut has been dreaming of opening a Blues pub in Yangon for so long. Although he once found a place inside Hotel Yangon five years ago, he didn’t have a chance to pursue his dream due to some reason. Yet he didn’t give up his hope.
Eventually he got a chance to fulfil his dream in late December 2019 by debuting his very owned 1964 Gastropub – named after his birth year – to the public.
Located inside Hotel Yangon in 8 miles, 1964 Gastropub is a cozy place where you can chill with your friends while having the rockstar’s own craft beer. The pub’s signature craft beer is a must-try at the pub which Zaw Win Htut brewed himself with the collaboration of Burbrit Brewery. You can also get its signature coffee and the singer is also planning to make its signature dishes soon.

Zaw Win Htut mentioned that he’d designed the pub himself, with his dream of hanging out with musicians and artists of his own age. There is no television or speakers inside the pub – only musical instruments such as piano and guitar for those who want to perform or listen to music without any disturbance. That is what makes the pub different and unique from others.
With the progress in finalising its food menu, 1964 Gastropub will surely be a new hangout spot where you can probably see rock stars and musicians gathering around at one place, everyone will be welcomed as a home with its affordable food and drinks and cozy atmosphere.
