The opening ceremony of Leonardo Opera Omnia Exhibition was held at Rosewood Yangon yesterday.
Commemorating the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the Italian Embassy in Yangon has organised this one-of-a-kind art event at Rosewood Yangon from 9 November to 2 December. The exhibition will be open to the public every day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm free-of-charge. It will showcase “extremely high definition and true-to-scale” reproductions of 17 masterpieces of Leonardo.
Jointly, some of local artist Htein Lin’s artworks will also be showcased at Rosewood Yangon (Promenade), during this period. The exhibition of this prominent Myanmar artist is named “Orbit of Dhamma” and is a meditation of the symbolic importance of the wheel which carries a lot of meanings in Buddhism (wheel of Dharma, Samsara, etc.)
As for Asia, the “Leonardo – Opera Omnia Exhibition” has been brought already to Tblisi (Georgia), Beijing and Canton (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Bangkok (Thailand) and, after Yangon, will move to Jakarta (Indonesia).
