The Glass is located at the rooftop of Hlaine Tet Hotel, on Kyaik Waing Pagoda Road across Insein Road. With its spectacular 360 view of Yangon skyline, the bar is well promoted amid young Yangonites since the day its opened.
With a big LED cocktail glass with its name written on the red brick wall at the entrance, instagram users would love to take a snap or two using a hashtag nightout. However, the view is worth going for those who love to sit and drink in the open air.
As its soft-opening at present, The Glass features its signature cocktails Panda’s Kiss, Soldier’s Tears, Love Potion, Gum Drop Chilli and Hey Uncle – each goes at a price of 6,500 Kyats. Whiskey, rum, vodka, tequila, brandy & cognac are the options if you don’t go for the cocktails. For Happy Hour deal, Buy 2 Get 1 Free Myanmar Beer and Premium are available from 5pm till closing during weekdays.
The menu highlights quick bites, soups and salads, rice and pastas, main and even sweets following European and Thai fusion dishes. Prices seem to be reasonable, since the Caesar Salad goes for 4,500 Kyats, Fried Rice with Chicken (4,500 Kyats), Chicken Wings (4,900 Kyats) and Mixed Sausage Platter (11,900 Kyats). Seasonal juices are also available.
Now as the rain goes away, The Glass might be another favorite spot for Yangonites and who knows, may be a place for a romantic date at night.
