llaollao is a Spanish frozen yogurt, or as dictated by urban slang as ‘froyo,’ franchise now available in Yangon, thanks to a local entrepreneur Ko Zaw Myo Oo.

When he was studying in Singapore, Zaw was impressed by the exquisite taste of the desert and decided to bring it to Myanmar.

“We use skimmed milk so it will be more appeal to people with low-fat diet plans. There is a wide range of fruits, sauces and crunches. You will always find a new way to garnish your froyo on each visit,” Zaw assures.

Just opened on 21st September on the third floor of Myanmar Plaza, llaollao Myanmar is already receiving a long line of customers waiting to taste the cold dessert.

“Everything in the shop – from tissues and cups to toppings – is imported from Spain. So, we guarantee the original taste.”

The shop offers tubs in three sizes: small (2,900 Kyats), medium (3,900 Kyats) and large (4,900 Kyats). The small tub comes with only one topping while the bigger options with three. Add-ons are available at Ks800 each. Caramelised biscuit, Oreo and Lacasitos (chocolate dragees) are popular among others.

“Now we offer kiwi, watermelon, dragon fruits. I also have a plan to integrate local strawberries and Sein Ta Lone mangoes,” Zaw shares his idea.

Other choices include froyo smoothies, starting at 3,900 Kyats and Sanum, frozen yogurt with more fruits than conventional tubs, at 5,400 Kyats.

Takeaway is also available at 11,900 Kyats for half a litre and 17,400 Kyats for a litre with three toppings. The froyo is kept in a beautiful apple-shape insulated box to prevent it from melting.
