Are you interested in exhibiting at an Open Art Exhibition in Yangon? Applications are now open. The British University of Yangon, in collaboration with the American University of Yangon, Connect Institute and other partners are calling for artists to exhibit at their Inya Road campus. They are particularly looking for current students, recent graduates, and emerging artists to apply. There will be a prize of $50 for one entry, and works can be sold.
Applications are open now until 15th September. The exhibition can feature any medium including, for example, painting, sculpture, moving image, photography, drawing, performances or installation. Applicants are asked to fill in a form to be considered.
The university would also like to install a mural for one of the classrooms and would like to commission an artist to complete this.
The exhibition will run from 20th September – 6th October and artists must be able to bring their works on 17th or 18th September for hanging. There will be a Private View on Thursday 19th September 5.30pm-7.30pm with drinks and snacks to announce the prize winner.
