Despite the well-known shops across the city, our newly arrived intern T Nang Seng Myat has discovered the hidden gems around her neighborhood. Check them out!

So Pyay

Since 2008, So Pyay has been famous for its traditional cuisine and dishes available. It all started with Shan Noodles – a single dish and friendly customer service of the owner from the beginning of the business. The quality of the food is maintained with favorable prices and flash-like services being provided. So, better build more trust with friends – anyone who would invite you for a bowl of Shan noodles at So Pyay.

Agape

Agape is a Greek word which means ‘Unconditional Love’. So, what makes Agape a unique family-style restaurant in Sanchaung? The answer is the idea of sharing a family’s traditional cuisine with the world. In a group of friends, 4 out of 5 would recommend you to go to Agape, for its spicy-flavored Shan noodles with meatballs. I am certain that the moment you’ll be at Agape will remain unforgettable.

Maw Shwe Pyi

Once you get in, you would feel the sweet-smelling atmosphere and see the stunning menu with over 30 dishes available. My first order was Shan noodles. Suddenly, I miss my home in Northern Shan State. If you’re looking for the original Shan cuisine, Maww Shwe Pyi is your great choice.

Shan Oae Si (Nant Khann)

There will be no time for the second decision as you will see bright packets of Shan Traditional Preserved food displayed at the entrance of the restaurant. The tomato paste underneath and on top is thick and perfect for Shan noodles of any texture which comes with the chicken soup. You can be very satisfied even with less amount of meat given. 1. Lashio is so much more than a Shan noodle shop, but also has some great Shan noodles! Lots of amazing food in Lashio from 4 years living and working in Lashio, and lots of culinary diversity. Hang out in Lashio for amazing food experiences, and get more adventurous outside of town for local traditional food straight from the forest and garden to the village home with home-cooked meals.

    • Hello, this Lashio is not a town. Its a restaurant in Yangon named “Lashio”.
Yes, we do love Lashio. It’s an amazing town with amazing food and people.
