When Myat Phoo Wai sat down to figure out what business she could start, she realised she could cook sticky noodles quite well. And that was the beginning of NooDi Noodle Shop.
NooDi serves clean and tasteful noodles, upgraded from simple Chinese food. All the recipes served at NooDi comes from Myat Phoo Wai herself and all the ingredients are homemade.
“Most people consider sticky noodles as a side dish, I believe there is still a certain group of people who love sticky noodles,” she added. As people thinks about Mandalay and its famous food Mandalay Mheeshay and Hto’mont, she wants the same thing for NooDi when they think about Yangon.
To compete in a crowded market with a dish as simple as a sticky noodle and to stand out, Myat Phoo Wai carefully works on presentation and packaging, focusing on a target market and creating loyal customers.
If you want to enjoy her noodles in the evening you will have to wait a while as the small restaurant is normally full with customers. But it is worth the wait to try them out!
With her entrepreneurial spirit and perseverance we are very excited to follow her journey making NooDi into a Yangon household brand!
