The Penthouse

Located on 8th floor of Park Side One building in Sanchaung, The Penthouse is another well-known spot to view the city. With its Mediterranean menu and the recent addition of a Campari Bar there’s plenty of reason to visit. Though many choose to come at night, the addition of new business lunch and coffee options to the menu now gives you a reason to visit during the day.

Yankin Heights Rooftop Bar

Yankin Heights is a new addition to Yangon’s rooftop scene. Tucked away on Aung Zeya Road, the heart of Yankin Township, this undoubtedly one of the smartest rooftop options. Though its restaurant has been calling the crowds, it also opens at 7:30am each day, making it an ideal place to wake up with a cup of coffee too.

Atlas Rooftop Bar & Lounge


The rooftop bar that needs no introduction, Atlas has been a stalwart of the Yangon nightlife scene since the beginning of time. Having recently reopened following monsoon, Atlas is situated on 12th floor of Uniteam Marine Building in Sanchaung. Famed for its magnificent views of Yangon, the Shwedagon Pagoda and sunsets, the many nights at Atlas are set to the sounds of their own live band.

Fratello Rooftop Dining

Not only will you be able to glimpse the Shwedagon Pagoda from Fratello but you’ll also be able to spy the white steeple of Judson Church. Fratello offers a mostly Italian menu but their cheeseburgers are not to be ignored. Be sure to stay for dessert, where you’ll simply have to have a glass of Limoncello to cap off you’re evening.

Cocoon Cafe & Bar

Taking the typical Myanmar beer station vibe, Coocoon elevates it, quite literally, to a higher level (the 9th to be exact). The traditional puppets on the wall give Cocoon a different aura than other flashier rooftop bars. Check out their Facebook page for information about their next promotion.

369 Dine & Bar

A favourite for locals, 369 has a variety of large flat-screen TVs all around making it a top choice for watching sport matches. Located on the top floor of the modern Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium Hotel, 369 also has a varied menu, which included everything from wine to cigars to schnitzels.
