One of Myanmar’s biggest fighting sensations returns to the ring this month in a night showcasing lethwei to the world.

Soe Lin Oo will compete at World Lethwei Championship’s (WLC) “Heartless Tigers” at Yangon’s Thuwunna Stadium on Saturday, September 29.

Known as “The Ironman,” Soe Lin Oo’s recent knock outs include Muay Thai star Iquezang and WBC kickboxing champion Umar Semata. His opponent who is yet to be named will have his work cut out for him.

The event will also see the lethwei debut of top Cambodian fighter Roeung Sophorn and Portuguese Antonio Faria, one of the most devastating lightweight fighters in Burmese bareknuckle boxing today.

WLC chairman U Zay Thiha said the card pits the best Burmese lethwei fighters against international stars. “This event will captivate the world and catapult Myanmar as an international sports hub,” he added.

“Heartless Tigers” will be the sixth event for Yangon-based WLC, one of the largest bareknuckle fighting organizations in the world. It will be broadcast live on Canal+ at 5.30pm on Saturday, September 29. Tickets are priced at 5,000 kyats, 10,000 kyats, and 50,000 kyats for VIP.
