Myanmar enjoys two public holidays this month: Martyr’s Day on Thursday, July 19 and the Full Moon Day of Waso— the beginning of ‘Buddhist Lent’—on Friday, July 27. One-day holidays speed by so quickly that you can often squander the time off thinking what to do. Here’s some suggestions to get you prepared.
Flying High
Ever flown in a dream? At Yangon’s first indoor skydiving center you can make that dream a reality. Indoor Skydiving Yangon—the first such center in the city—charges from 30,000 kyats per two minutes in the wind tunnel for ages 10 and above, and 20,000 kyats per two minutes for ages five to 10. At the location is Ya Kun Restaurant so no need to bring snacks. But before you go, make sure it is safe for you to ‘fly’: people with heart surgery, bad asthma, recent surgery, or people over 250lbs are restricted.
