Sule Shangri-La has held a wedding fair of modern and traditional gowns by local and regional designers in preparation for a two-day wedding bonanza at the end of May.
The five-star hotel’s ‘Iconic Inspirations’ collection will showcase the best of Myanmar wedding attire from May 26-27 and include designs from local designers Ma Myint Zu, Latt Latt, and Charlotte Barjou, along with nine ASEAN designers from the ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase (AFDS).
The first day will display traditional gowns and conclude with a gala cocktail show by popular designer Mogok Pauk Pauk at 6pm, with special guest Laotian designer and AFDS member Lasavong Bandid.
The second day will showcase the work of more AFDS members including Ma Myint Zu (Zu Zu Collection) and Charlotte Barjou (Charlotte Barjou Design). Couples who confirm their wedding plans at the fair get 10 percent off. The fair also includes raffles for honeymoon stays at selected Shangri-La locations, and special prizes of wedding gowns from various local designers, as well as providing a chance to meet renowned wedding specialists: Eternal Florist (official partner for floral and creative design), Kingsman Photo Club (official partner for photography), Linn Linn (official make-up artist), and Carrie Models International.
Formed by Singaporean fashion designer Hayden Ng in 2015, the goal of AFDS is to help magnify the appreciation for the fashion industry within the ASEAN region.
