Art studio and gallery Wired on 39 is collecting plastic bags and bottles to make art installation for World Environment Day on Tuesday, June 5.

The studio, which is known for its striking wire sculptures, is collaborating with group Beat Plastic Pollution in Myanmar for the “Wave of Pollution” installation that highlights the impact of plastic waste on rives and oceans.

Wired on 39 owner Don Wright said, “I am very happy to be working with Beat Plastic Pollution in Myanmar on this art installation. I hope the installation will raise awareness about the problem with using single-use plastic containers.

“It is a worldwide issue for the environment, but, I have noticed after living in Yangon for six years, that the pollution caused by used plastic is increasing every year.”

Anyone who wants to help collect plastic and help make the installations can contact Don Wright on 09 2543 77278 or Facebook @Wiredon39. Wired on 39, is located at 200, 39 Street Kyauktada Township.
