Babett Bar and Eatery in Yangon is offering a range of festive specials, wines and events until New Year’s Eve.

Along with its carefully selected cuts of meat and handpicked wines, visitors to Babett will now be able to choose from 17 additional seasonal dishes and desserts and 19 varieties of wine, sparkling or champagne any time of the day.

Festive specials include dishes such as Fine de Claire oysters, foie gras, lobster, short rib beef bourguignon, lamb and, of course, turkey. There will also be a special ‘TUF’ (Till U’re Full) Christmas day brunch and a New Year’s Eve celebration.

All the Babett dishes and wines chosen for the Yangon palate have been sourced, selected, imported and developed by the group’s general manager and chef de cuisine, Sylvain Royer. For occasions such as staff Christmas parties where something fun, fruity and effervescent is needed, Sylvain recommends the Cuvée Splendid from the Burgundy region of France which is a classic example of a sparkling Blanc de Blanc that gives bubbles at a very affordable price.

However, for those seeking relaxation, quality food and an endless supply of sparkling wine and cocktails on Christmas Day, the ‘TUF’ Christmas Day Brunch will satisfy the pickiest of eaters and the hungriest of appetites with their wide range of dishes served from 11am-3pm.

For a belly busting four hours, visitors can continue to order ‘Till ‘Ure Full’ from the extensive brunch menu which will include salad, cheese and cold cuts, eggs (three ways), pizzas and pastas, rotisserie items and special dishes such as prime beef rib, Fine de Claire oysters, grilled king prawns and veal cheeks for an additional cost. The customary free flow of wine, beer, selected cocktails or Mimosas will also be available.

Chef Sylvain said: “The specially selected dishes and wines chosen for Babett have been developed and chosen with the Yangon palate in mind. Most of the wines are not too complicated, are easy to drink and are not too aggressive on both price or taste. Whereas the festive specials are an exciting twist on the traditional fare that you would normally expect to see being served at this time of year.”

Babett will see out 2017 in style with its very own NYE Countdown. With live music from 7pm and two DJs—Boom Lay and AKAT—spinning Babett Eatery and Bar.
