Sharky’s have announced that they are to begin serving a brand new Myanmar Breakfast Menu.  You can now get a fresh, organic, Sharky’s Mohinga! For just 2,000 ks!

Sharky’s does European breakfasts famously well. Needless to say, we had our fair share of croissants, sausage, bacon and egg whilst in Bagan. However, we came for the Myanmar food and, of course, we were not disappointed.

No topic raises passions like Mohinga, and the folks at Sharky’s have been fiercely debating the recipes for months. Recipes were concocted, tested, retried, and perfected… and the result is a Mohinga Miracle.

Sharky’s famous ‘Golden Egg’ sits atop a nest of fine rice noodles (made in house,) and coriander and beans picked just 50 meters from the table. The soup brings about embarrassing levels of salivation, with the acidity of the lime cutting through the deep umami of the fish broth. We demand another bowl.

In addition to the Mohinga, Sharky’s is also serving a number of other Myanmar breakfast classics, each with a complimentary cup of sweet Myanmar milk tea. And, for those who see Sharky’s as expensive, all dishes are available at 2,000 ks.

We started, sat on the beautiful green terrace with views of the Shwezigon, by getting straight into the delicious samosas and E Kyar Kyaw – notably fresh, crisp, full of flavour and lacking the excess oil often found in these snacks.

These were followed by some equally delicious parathas – flaky, doughy, and made from the finest and freshest organic Shan flour. And then, the real tests: The Mohinga (an instant classic), and the Ohn No Kauk Swe: Brothy, coconutty, rich, and thick with wheaty noodles and fresh herbs.

The new Myanmar menu once again proves that nothing is impossible in the world of Sharky’s: “So, you want an authentic, organic, delicious and freshly made Myanmar breakfast before getting down to a lunch of the best cheese and meats produced in South East Asia? Sure, no problem at all,” they’ll say… And, with a click of the fingers, it’s on the table.

Well done, Sharky’s, you’re finally making Myanmar proud with it’s own fabulous foods!
