If you are looking for a place to grab some drinks and relax, away from the hustle and the bustle, Regional Bistro Bar is the place for you.

Located on Dhammazedi Road, this recently opened bar differentiates itself from others in the region for serving fusion food. Bringing eastern and western influences to the menu, the owner’s intention was to serve mainly classic dishes – whilst always giving it some edge. “The idea was to step away from the traditional – every dish in the menu has a twist”, in his own words. As an example, even the most conventional portion of french fries is accompanied by Myanmar style spicy condiments.

Despite being able to try “from steak, to pork chops to European food”, the house specialties remain the Myanmar Fried Chicken and the Prawn Pasta.

Regional Bistro Bar takes pride in serving a wide variety of drinks – many of which are made with exotic ingredients, such as mint, ginger and cucumber, and are an exclusivity of the house.

The drinks are quite generously dosed in alcohol, and made to be enjoyed in the beautifully decorated main space, or in one of the more private squared booths in the second floor. The atmosphere is perfect for a laid back night out – the place has pleasant music in the background, but nothing that will get in the way of a good conversation.

The Bar is one of the eight places where you will be able to find Burbrit Beer – locally brewed craft beer produced in Myanmar, but following century-old German tradition. Beer drinking nights are common in football match days – which turn into sizable events at Regional Bistro Bar. They also organize birthday parties and other celebrations for a set price, according to the amount of people attending.

During the day, the place works as a coffee place – serving Starbucks-inspired drinks such as Frappuccinos, including a Matcha Green Tea version, and high speed wi-fi – ideal for the community of digital nomads based in Yangon.

There is virtually no excuse for you not to stop by next time!
