Sedona Hotel is gearing up for the second-most important tradition in Chinese culture, the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Cake Festival.

The Moon Cake Festival is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the 8th lunar month, in 2017, that is on the 4th of October. There are many legends surrounding the origin of the Moon Cake Festival. All origins surround moon worship, whether for good harvest or abundance for the household. Moon cakes are traditionally given to friends and family to symbolize longevity and harmony.

Although the actual celebration is on the 4th of October 2017, the hotel is already accepting orders for moon cakes.

They introduced their menu with an extravagant feast at their Grand Ballroom, featuring red lanterns, Chinese music, and living pictures of Chinese traditions like drinking tea and playing mahjong. Of course, a moon cake tasting event will not be complete without moon cakes offered.

You can choose from a variety of classic and new variations of the paste with egg yolk: Red Bean, Lotus, Black Sesame, Black Sesame with Almond, Durian, and Grean Tea, each ranging from $6 to $8 per piece. A box is also available for $39, containing 6 pieces and a choice of Jasmine Tea box or Red Wine
