Opened in December 2016, Uncle.MC is the first restaurant in Myanmar that offers “Steam Stone Pot” concept.
Steam Stone Pot is a pot made of stone, originated from Sichuan province, China. Hot steam is pumped into the base of the stone pot. Steam pipes are installed beneath the floor of the restaurant.
Fish and vegetables are placed inside the pot, added some Marla paste. The fish is steamed for around 3 minutes until it is fully cooked. When finished, the aroma comes from within the pot made us so eager to want to tuck in instantly!
The fish is priced per weight; 1 kilogram costs roughly around 18,000 KS, which is enough for four persons.
Although the taste of the Marla dish may seem ordinary, the steamed style of cooking was actually unique.
Other dishes include Sliced Roasted Duck, Roasted Pork Neck, Golden Taro (Deep Fried Taro Rolled with Vermicelli), and Lady Fingers dipped in Sichuan Style Sauce.
Asides the steamed fish, roasted duck and pork neck are two of the most popular dishes ordered by customers.
The hospitality and service of the staff was beyond superior. They took effort to prepare the main dish right in front of us.
For the venue, the restaurant provides ample parking space for up to 8 cars. It can accommodate up to 160 customers at one time.
In conclusion, Uncle.MC seems like a suitable place for family members and friends to gather. The price is also reasonable for the portion. The atmosphere was also comfortable and spacious. The space was overall hygienic and clean, which added to a more pleasant dining experience.
